We have always wanted to do something with this awkward space. We had an entertainment center for our TV here, but it never fit. We loved the idea of building an entertainment center, but never got around to it. So when a friend told us her dad was coming down and he was a Carpenter his whole career and wanted to earn money for a fishing trip we decided to go for it.
The kids had so much fun watching him build it, and playing in the sawdust. He was such a good sport to let them out there and be in his way.
Our garage turned into a workshop for a couple of days
It's installed but still needed to be primed and painted.
And here is the finished product. We LOVE it. We are so happy with it. He did a great job and we are so happy we did it. It makes the room looked finished now and more open. The only problem is I can't take it with me if we ever move. It's now part of the house.

Emily- no we are not moving any time soon. I was just saying it can't be moved, it's built into the wall.
Amy- We had a general design in mind. We explained what we wanted and gave him free reign with the rest.

Wow! What a beautiful piece of work and what fun for your family and home! It's fun to have new changes and though you can't take it with you...and you can surely enjoy it for a while! So good to hear your voice Elizabeth! Hugs, Jackie
